Dr. Majumder grew up in Dallas, Texas, and completed her undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville before earning her Doctor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. She went on to complete specialist training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Centre in Dallas, gaining extensive experience across both adult and paediatric ENT conditions. Following her training, Ananya was recruited to establish and grow a general otolaryngology practice in Fort Worth, Texas, where she worked from 2017 to 2024, also serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern. She relocated to New Zealand in 2024 and is currently a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Waitematā District Health Board, where she cares for both adult and paediatric patients and contributes to registrar training.
Ananya has in-depth experience across the ENT spectrum, caring for both adults and children. She provides expertise and treatment for a range of conditions, including sinus and nasal disorders, benign and malignant neck masses, and paediatric ENT problems.
Ananya is recognised for her empathetic communication style and collaborative approach, ensuring her patients and their families feel supported and fully informed throughout their care. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children, and has loved making Auckland home.
